Do you build turnkey houses?
One of the main advantages of NUMO is its integrated approach to construction. Due to the fact that in addition to the production complex of a full cycle of woodworking and a construction company, we produce furniture, there are architects, interior and landscape designers, designers, etc. on the staff. objects can be handed over to the customer on a turnkey basis. The house will be fully equipped with engineering systems and equipment, furnished and decorated. And this means that we will independently control all stages of work and regulate the sequence of these stages and the timing of implementation, and you will only have to enjoy the process of building your home.
What buildings are you building?
Houses, bathhouses and estates made of glued beams, multi-section houses, duplexes and townhouses, small architectural forms - gazebos, winter gardens, sheds, garages, complex development objects - cottage villages, kindergartens and schools made of glued beams, public buildings - suburban hotels complexes and restaurants, sports facilities - equestrian arenas, ice arenas, swimming pools, courts
Are you pouring the foundation?
One of the main advantages of NUMO is its integrated approach to construction. From the construction of the foundation, to the commissioning of the house.
What countries do you build in?
The house set consists of walls, windows, doors, roofs, ceilings, skirting boards, architraves, hemmed boards, etc. Factory assembly guarantees dimensional accuracy (error does not exceed 1 mm). Thanks to this, we offer to equip the house with custom-made furniture. The design of our houses is designed for the size of a sea container, so we guarantee the transportation of the house kit to any place of construction by sea or rail. For deliveries within Europe, semi-trailers with a sliding top, the so-called “tarpaulin trailers”, are used. Thus, we can deliver the completed house kit to any point.
Is flat roofing safe?
Glulam houses are resistant to various adverse weather conditions, including snowfalls and strong winds. The snow load on the flat roof of a NUMO house allows for more than 300 kg/m2, which is equivalent to a "snow cap" 6 meters high. However, it is extremely difficult to assemble such a “cap” for a building with a flat roof. All NUMO engineering solutions are designed to take into account a variety of climatic conditions and are calculated in accordance with generally accepted norms and requirements.
Do you build houses with pitched roofs?
90% of our customers choose us after seeing the already recognizable style of NUMO houses with a flat roof and, accordingly, order houses in the same style. But there are regions, towns or villages where new houses should not differ from the agreed architectural style, in such places we build houses with pitched roofs.
Do panoramic windows let in the cold in winter?
Modern double-glazed windows are of high quality and excellent thermal insulation. Even large glass windows do not let the cold in, so the rooms are warm all year round. Also along all the panoramic windows, we lay an additional contour of the warm floor.
Are your houses suitable for year-round living?
Houses made of glued beams meet modern energy saving requirements for residential buildings today. For each NUMO house, we carefully select timber that will meet the needs of that particular building. When selecting timber, we take into account the local climate and local building regulations, as well as the client's personal preferences regarding the main design elements. Our range includes timber of various sections. Additionally, we offer glued laminated timber with insulation, which makes the house even warmer and more energy efficient. All this allows us to build buildings for year-round use in any region.
Are NUMO houses environmentally friendly?
NUMO houses are environmentally friendly houses that literally “take care” of their residents. After all, the walls of our houses are all the same pine trees that survived the bad weather and absorbed solar energy. Everyone who enters a house from a bar feels this energy of nature. A wooden house is a lasting legacy for future generations. Wood is 100% renewable and therefore a unique building material. By using wood instead of non-renewable materials, we significantly reduce the negative human impact on the environment. Contact with nature is also a source of creativity and inspiration. A person can enjoy nature in different ways: someone is inspired by walks in the fresh air, for someone the contemplation of a majestic forest is valuable. At NUMO wooden houses, we create another way to enjoy nature without even leaving your home.
Does the glue of the timber affect the air permeability?
Doesn't interfere at all. The Pur glue we use preserves the natural breathability of the log. The adhesive system uses the natural moisture of the wood to bond the wood pieces together, i.e. the adhesive does not contain ingredients that prevent the log from being breathable. The glue is also applied to the surface not in the form of a film, but in the form of gauze, leaving air holes in the glue. Air permeability is often mistakenly understood as the ability of a wall to remove moisture from the inside to the outside and vice versa. However, the breathability of the structure and the balance of air humidity are important. The rising humidity of the room air must get inside the log and return from there to humidify the air. Thus, the log balances fluctuations in air humidity and does not allow moisture to remain in the structures. For this reaction, a structure a few centimeters thick is sufficient, i.e. the glue joint inside the lamella log does not affect the breathability, as moisture does not penetrate to such a depth. It is important that the breathability of the inside and outside of the log is not compromised by unsuitable surface treatments such as film-forming varnishes and paints.
Is the glue safe?
The Pur glue we use does not contain formaldehyde or other toxic ingredients, the gluing system uses the natural moisture of the wood to bond the lamellas, it does not emit harmful substances. The glue does not contain solvents at all, formaldehyde is not emitted from it, which makes it harmless.
Glued laminated timber cracking?
Timber - made of natural materials, and has the ability to absorb and release moisture, depending on fluctuations in relative humidity. It always settles a little before the humidity equalizes with the environment. As a result of changes in humidity, the wood slightly decreases or increases in size, changes shape and may crack when internal stresses in the wood are exceeded. Cracking to a certain extent is a natural characteristic of wood, including glued beams. It is especially important to ensure that the moisture content of the timber does not change abruptly. However, these microcracks do not exceed a thickness of 1-2 mm and several centimeters in length, which cannot be compared with cracks in round logs, where they reach several centimeters in height.
How long does glued laminated timber last?
A wooden house can stand for hundreds of years if it is properly designed and built. NUMO houses are the best choice in areas with seismic activity. Wooden houses, due to the strength of wood and horizontal construction, are the safest option in areas prone to earthquakes.
Why is it better to build from glued beams?
Each NUMO home has a subtle aroma of coniferous forest. It is impossible not to agree that this pleasant and fresh smell improves the quality of everyday life in the house dozens of times. You have certainly experienced the soothing atmosphere of a pine forest. Now imagine that you get the same feeling every day, just by being in your home. For man, wood has always been a favorite material. In addition to a pleasant aroma, wood is aesthetically beautiful and pleasant to the touch. For the house, the acoustic characteristics of wood are also valuable - namely, the absorption of sounds. All this creates a unique calming environment, which is so important to have in your home. The optimal indoor air humidity for good health ranges from 30 to 55 percent. At this level of humidity, the air is easier to breathe, and the growth of mold and bacteria is minimized. All this significantly reduces the likelihood of respiratory infections, allergies and headaches. Numerous studies show that solid wood has a unique ability to absorb moisture and release it as the room dries. This "breathing" function of the timber ensures that your home will be created optimal conditions for the health of you and your family. By choosing NUMO, you are choosing a home built without the use of any synthetic insulation materials or vapor barriers. Our houses are plastic-free - natural and clean wood surrounds you, helping you to calm down after the work day, reduce your overall stress levels, improve your quality of sleep and improve your overall quality of life.
Is the NUMO house fireproof?
Houses made of glued beams have high characteristics in terms of fire resistance. In general, wood is a combustible material, but in construction, glued laminated timber is considered to be extremely fire resistant. Good fire resistance of wood is the result of its properties: natural moisture protects against ignition. In order for the wood to catch fire, the moisture must completely evaporate. In the event of a fire, the burnt surface forms a layer that prevents the spread of fire. Electrical wiring in our homes is implemented without the use of junction boxes. In addition, all wiring in the walls and under the floors is carried out in metal pipes that do not support combustion. This is a combination of factors that reduce the potential risk of fire during a short circuit to zero.
